Through four half-day sessions, this NSF-sponsored virtual workshop convened leaders in electronic materials, devices, and systems to discuss emerging opportunities in semiconductors and related materials and their integration within electronic and photonic systems. Continued American leadership in semiconductor technology is essential to maintain national security and defense, and foster economic growth. This workshop aimed to develop a vision for directed research in future innovations in semiconductors and related materials to promote continued U.S. leadership in this critical sector.
The sessions were held:
- Monday, March 1, 2021
- Tuesday, March 2, 2021
- Monday, March 8, 2021
- Tuesday, March 9, 2021
The keynote addresses and panelist talks were pre-recorded and available to registered participants one week in advance of each session. Keynote addresses were played during the half-day sessions, as were short summaries of the panelist talks.
Dr. Thomas Kuech (CMMI) and Dr. Nadia El-Masry (EEC)
This workshop was one of two Future of Semiconductors and Beyond workshops sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The other workshop, scheduled for February 8-9 and February 17-18, 2021 focused on systems and devices.
